She is a summa cum laude graduate from North Carolina State University. Dr. Ohuoba completed her public health and medical degree in Boston University School of Medicine and her OB/GYN residency was at Baylor College of Medicine. She remained in Texas, and has served as Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Chairman and Subspecialty Medical Director at Memorial Hermann Health System. At Memorial Hermann, she is known as an advocate for maternal health equity and has pioneered the use of minimally invasive procedures treating fibroids and other women’s reproductive conditions. Dr. Ohuoba is a public speaker and thought leader who serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Houston. She has trained in the Harvard Media and Medicine program due to her commitment to improving healthcare delivery. She has shared her expertise on prominent platforms such as ESSENCE Magazine, The BUMP, NBC Houston, CW Houston, WebMD, Healthgrades, Today’s Parent, Healthnews, Yahoo, Houston Style Magazine, the NIH Minority Health, and more.
